I just sent out my head for porting also. I have an 06 though, I will also be swapping out the hrc cam for a hot cam stage 2 cam.

It should really rip. I wish I had that setup.

What kind of jetting will you be running with that cause i just put mine together this weekend with 11.5 piston hot cam stage 2 and ported head. im running a 195 that i had in it with my exhuast and it loved it then but now back to to lean.

i am running a hotcam st2, 13.1 piston, fcr, porting, and tokyo mod ignition.
I thought the engine would pull a lot harder then it actually does.
Maybe something is wrong?
it revs faster but doesn't pull like a rocker like everyone had described.

your pilot jetting and main jet are prolly not right, and also a problem i had was my clutch springs were worn out. it very well could be the clutch springs. it makes a huge difference.

a local guy, he does a lot of port work for pro racers around here.
A lot of people are happy with him, so i thought i would give him a try.
just in case i am running a 48 pilot stock needle, and 170 main.
should i go up to a 175 main and 50 pilot?
I thought i would be able to hang with them new suzuki's, they pull a lot hard then mine.
I am also running a 50/50 mix of C12 and 94 octance.
thanks for all the help, i will check the clutch set up.
I was also thinking that i should recheck my timing to ensure the timing isn't off a bit.
