Well I have had my 300ex for sale for a while, and sunday I get a call from someone by relay call(what def people use) saying they would give me 2300 for it. He said he would send me a check, and then I could send the quad to him. I was like whatever floats your boat. He also contacted me by email and his grammer was way off, like a foreign person. I was not suspicious:rolleyes: , stupid me. Any way I tried sending him numerous emails asking for his adress and all, but no reply. So today I get a check in the mail for $5,000, and we conacted authorities and it was indeed fake, and I am very lucky that I didnt cash it, becasue I would have been owing someone 5 grand. So apparently this is common from people in Nigeria or somwhere overseas. So basically, if you sell your bike or quad, or anything, be d&mn sure that you know who your selling it to. ARGH im so pissed right now, and now I have to wait longer to go buy a YZ125.

africa really sucks, but if you think about it it could be a really nice place!! they got sick beahces and ****, just everbody who lives there is ******* PSYCO

Yea this scam is extremely common, and 99% of the time it's impossible to trace. Same thing happened to my parents this last week when they tried to sell an oak entertainment center on craiglist. Said they would buy it for $2000, they "mistakenly" sent a check for 6500 and wanted the rest wired back. God what people will do to make a buck, it just makes me sick.
