Noise

hey, when im ridin it sounds like something is loose on my quad but i cant figure out where. My dad said it sounds like from the exhaust area and i think its comming from up front. My oil is clean, its like somethin is ratteling. Any ideas wheres its comming from?

do u have and exhaust shield??? maybe its loose?

Yeah definetly check those eader shield bolts, sometimes they like to rattle loose

alright, yea ill check the exhaust sheild. One day i was messing with it, maybe i got it loose from that or jus ridin.

I like to go through about once every 3 rides or so and check all the bolts to make sure nothing has rattled loose. Just cheap insurance.

I had the same problem it sounded completly up front I thought it was the motor for sure, or something with the shocks. so I took it to the dealer he rode it and come to find out it was my chain. he lubed the crap out of it and the noise shut up. I was like ohhh my god (its like 1 hour drive) but better safe then sorry.another to keep in my mind these ARE noisy motors period. but try lubing the chain. I know what your thinking ,I said the same thing not a chance! but thats what it was.

alright, ill try that. It wasnt the sheild on the exhaust. I always lube my chain though after i ride. Its liek something is loose. its ratteling

I have the same noise(s) on my '06. When not under hard accelleration, the chain does make noise (esp when kinda loose) Plus, I have what sounds like the heat shield rattling (its tight).
At least all these noises seem to be consistent among 2006 models :ermm:

trusy me all the years make it I have close freinds with an 04 and an 05 they all rattle.

Yeah my 04 rattles like that alot too. I've checked everything and I didn't find anything wrong so I just ride it.

I doubt this is your problem, just a suggestion. But my buddy, he has a yfz w/ a gytr pipe and he had a rattle that we could not find for nothing. It was a normal rattle that sounded like it was coming from up front for some reason. But turns out, it was actually the air coming out of his pipe. If you stand about 5 feet behind it you can hear it even better. Its something to do with the way the exhaust hits the air, it sounds like tin foil being shook around once you stood back from it, but when I was on it, it had me fooled.

i found out where the noise was commmin from. it was from my ac bumper. it was ratteling. like the screen was shaking after i revved it.
