Did you mod that yourself? and how much of a difference did you notice after removing the air box?

Looking like a good idea

yea i made it my self it was a lot of difference that i noticed the lowend was better and mid range was where it all came into play though with no loss in top end and made first gear a little longer too. i can make one for you just have to figure out price just pm me on details.

looks likes a pretty good idea, but i think it would suffer in muddy conditions.

I even noticed a difference riding w/o the air box cover, at least i thought so, the intake was freaking loud, i usually ride in dry conditions but i always seem to come back muddier than my 4x4 buddies :D, i'll let you know if i decide to use your idea!

Anyone ever thought about cutting a large rectange out of the stock air box lid, and covering it with a spare foam filter, along with another filter inside, to bring in more air?

I doubt that would bring in more air, it would probably restrict the air flow.

An airbox lid with a filtered hole, apposed to an airbox lid with no hole at all....would restrict airflow?
