i was just wondering if i should run a 42 pilot jet all the time even if i dont remove my choke, and what benefits will i see with it. the reason i am asking is because i bought one with the idea of removing my choke but i decided not to. will it still benifit me to put it in even if i dont remove my choke, or should i just remove my choke.

thanks

the pilot jet is only 1/8 throttle to idle but i don't think it will hurt to put it in

With intake and exhaust mods most 400EXs will benefit from a slightly richer pilot circuit than provided with the stock 38 pilot jet. Do you have a little bit of popping when decelerating from a closed throttle? If you do than your pilot circuit is a little lean and your engine will like a 40 or 42. Cold starts will be a little easier with a larger pilot jet as well.
