Quickshot and turn idle up, should be a different bike.

the quick shot is not for starting it is mainly for taking the bog out of fcr carbs. For instance the yfz450 does not have problems starting but it has the dead spot in low gears when u mash the throttle. Even with the quickshot, idle turned up, and leak jet adjusted you will never 100% get the bog out. It will help majorly. Now back to staring. I have a 450er also and i know what you are talking about with the slow starts. What a lot of people are doing are putting bigger batteries in. The problem is the battery is not supplying enough juice to turn over the motor. The bigger battery will help to turn the starter faster. Believe me this will help. When i say bigger battery i dont mean like a car battery obviousily but one the same size but that puts out more voltage. hope this helps. i think i might know who you are i go to almost all cra races and i remember a 450er not taking off right away. well anyways i hope this helps. Let me know

I agree on the starting. but does anyone make a stronger battery the same size as stock?????? All of us 06 owners do not want to hack up our machines to put in a bigger battery.

What you need is more cold cranking amps (CCA) not voltage. On the yfz's we replace the stocker with a batter for a cbr600 bike. It has more than double the CCA's of the stocker and it is only a little bigger.

does anyone know of any batteries of the same stock size or slightly larger, that have more cca's?

Turning the idle up will make it harder to start, it will richen it and therefore be harder for the motor to fire up.

ya that's true extra voltage won't do anything for yu, it's the cca's yu need. Upping the volts won't make it start any easier, just fry yer starter

There isn't a battery the same size as stock with more CCA. I have asked Pappy about it. Also I have talked with a few guys that put bigger batteries in, it really does not make it start faster, just cranks faster. Really the bigger battery just wouldn't die as easy I guess.
