I need some help I have a 05 450r with 20'' tires that I race XC.The tracks that we race are real tight and no strights so I was thinking of going down a tooth in the front to a 13.Will this be good for tight areas or should I go to a 12 tooth front.Top speed is not for me so I dont care about losing top speed. If I go to a 12 or 13 do I have to do anything to the chain like take a link out?

i went down one tooth in the front.i have a after market carrier, which gives u more adjustment.it all depends how much your chain is already stretched....i tried before with stock carrier, and it was almost maxxed out for the adjustement.it should be ok to just run a race, and try it out....going to a 12 in front i think it's to small and it might wear your case.that's what i'm been told by a few different sources.
