Always wondered how a CR250R (2001) motor would work in a TRX frame?

Granted the vibration.. thing. But how does the service honda rate? (which also uses a 2001 CR250R motor.

Just wondering why I don't see more (newer) motors in older TRX frames?:D

You don't see cr motors, because of the vibration deal, and also the old trx motors have the options(such as the pv) to make them extremely strong, they fit in the frame perfectly! And when built correct can be quite bullet proof!

How is Service Honda getting by with a CR motor? Can't think that it is rattling the 400ex frame apart?

I used to ride a 2002 cr250 with some motor work (port and polish, light weight piston, reeds, yadda yadda) and the vibration wasnt THAT bad. It did vibrate a lot, but thats at idle. Once you start moving you never notice it again. If one was to put a newer cr250r motor in their R frame, then I would recommend using rubber bushings in the motor mounts where applicable. This might compensate for the vibration and make it more subtle. And arent the newer style CR motors (00-06) powervalve motors from honda? I'm not sure but I heard this somewhere.
