Hey all,

Looking to get my rear caliper, throttle cover, possibly f&r hubs and maybe a few other small pieces polished out. What's it cost and can you clear coat over it to keep it from tarnishing?

Not looking for half-azzed work here either.

Thanks,

Glamis

Have you ever used a polishing wheel that you can put on a drill or a bench grinder to do this to parts?

Yeah those are the parts of my 400ex. Nacsracer027 (aka shawn) did those for me.

It takes some upkeep to keep it looking that good. Here is a more recent photo. Not near as shiney but still looking good.

i dunno on a few of those things....get an entire list together and shoot me a PM...but if you want them done in a hurry, you might want to go to someone else. They will get done, but my schedule is realy right right now...going to school and still working 30-40 hour weeks, while riding 2 times during the week and racing on the weekend, and keeping my gf satisfied...

JHForeman is the only person I will let polish my parts, I have not seen real polishing from anyone else. No offense, but John does it correctly and to satisfy me it has to be done the correct way. I have had the oppertunity to see first hand parts polished by alot of members responding in this thread and if your going to pay someone to do the work, you should get back parts that are polished, not just shined up.

so..how do you actualy polish the metal instead of just shine it up? I'd like to learn.

You should ask John, he does polishing, I do not. I do however know the difference when I see a half *** job versus a part that was properly taken thru the polishing process. Was it you or the other kid on here that sent me a half azzed case polished for a member. It really doesnt matter, as long as it looks shiney in a picture you can call it polishing if you wish. This is the reason we do not allow every kid with a buffing wheel to advertise they are a polishing company.

nope...definately wasnt me, i know my word doesnt mean much...but ill vouch for myself, every part i polish, for myself or for other people..looks jut as good, if not better than it does in the picture. I am sure the few people i have polished for will vouch for that also.

If what i do is just shien up metal, than i would actualy know the process to go through to actualy polish it...as far as i knew, sanding smooth and using different steps of abrasive compound was polishing.

Would I be able to put a coat of ZoopSeal on some polished aluminum with good results?
