Its a 2005 HMF sent me 4 jets a 165 170 175 and a 180 the jet that was in the quad was a 130 i figured 130 to 165 is a big enough jump for just a slip on.

ok,i have 3 more questions thats it,are they minuki jets are dyojet? the reason why im askin is cause i also just recently ordered a hmf and they told me to run a 145 main,im curious why they sent you all those bigger jets then what they told me to run, also do you have the spark arestor in? can you let me know how the jetting works out for you when you get a chance to ride it? haha sorry for all the questions, but thnx for the info so far:)

Im not sure what kinda jets they are:confused: i rode it today with the setting the way it was in my first post and it stumbled threw the mid range so i removed the air snorkel and now it runs great so i have a 165 main no air snorkel and i didnt touch the screw, thats all i did seems more powerful down low for sure not much diffrent up top.

The sound though is awesome!!

Got the same pipe, love the sound and the low end power but the other day i raced my buddies 400ex and my top end is completly gone, he killed me! HMF only sent me a 145 and a 175 main jet. On their web site they say to run a 170 and 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw. I put in the 175 and 3 turns out and I think it is way too much! Stock it had less low end but 10 times more top end! I couldn't even hit the rev limiter in the top end of the last three gears ( i tried!). Their is no excuse to be beat by a 400ex with a KFX or a Z. I am ordering the dyno-jet kit to give me some more jetting options. By the way, that is with a UNI-filter, no air box lid, no spark arrestor, and in Nebraska...elevation unknown!

Still no answer from HMF:ermm:

anywho i got the quad out today for some top speed runs and the jetting seems good to go quad has way more power down low for sure seemed to hit the rev limiter fast in 1st gear lol yanks the front end effortlessly even on slow 3rd gear riding im happy with it so far.

so my set up is the hmf slip on removed air snorkel and a 165 main jet thats it i did nothing else to it and its running good.

I ended up throwing in the 145 Jet that I have, and went with 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw to start with. It runs sooooo much bettter than it did!!!!! Rev limiter is too easy to hit now, gonna look into the programable cdi box and get the extra rpm's that are there. Still no airbox lid and a UNI filter.

wheres the mixture screw at on this carb anyway?

What you have to do is, when you have the carb turned sidways to put the jet in look towards the front (engine side) and there will be small brass looking plug with a small hole in the middle, there are two plugs but this is the smaller one and the one closest to the motor and it looks like it is coming down a little from the carb. take a drill and a small drill bit and use the small hole for a starting point. Drill through the plug and it should come out, if not move up a bit size or two until you can pry or pull it out. Don't worry, there is a gap between the plug and the mixture screw, once the plug is gone you can see the mixture screw! Pretty simple.:)

Thats way to lean unless your in the mountains maybe, but the stock jet is a 135 or 130 so having a full system you should atleast be at a 165 probably more like 170 or 175.

I'm running a HMF slip on, K&N, no snorkel and a 155 main and it seems to be dead on. It runs strong

Just putting a slip on wont require rejetting, its letting more air into your engine that make jetting a need. If you take off your airbox lid you will need to rejet. If you leave it on you wont. My mods are no lid, MBRP pipe,165 main,3@1/2 turns out on the fuel screw and mine runs like a raped ape
