Newbie here, just got an 06 450r and it seems to have a little hesitation from idle through mid range when I nail the gas. I was wondering if there is something I can do or get a different jet size to combat this. Any help would do. Thanks

Make sure its broken in properly and after that make sure you warm it up completly before you ride it.

that is the fcr carb in it. i lessesned it temporarily by turning up the idle. also there is a product called the boyeson quickshot that takes care of this problem. i haven't tried one yet, but will in the future...

Scroll back into old posts and you will get alot of info on this.

From what I've seen the FCR will always do that at least a little bit when you just sit there and peg the gas. But if you jet/tune it right, the problem becomes completely unnoticable when you actually RIDE it. I've run two GNCC's and never had an issue with hesitation will riding it, but if its sitting there idling and I just stab the gas the hesitation is obvious. Sounds weird but it's true...

Leak jets are the same as Pilot jets right?

I think you need to buy a new engine. Just kidding- Mine did the same damn thing from the factory. They are really corked up stock, and the jetting is real lean. I got the HRC Kit, a 172 main, 45 pilot, and a Yoshimura RS-7 slip on, and there are no problems here. The slip on exhaust seems to make them run much better, atleast mine did.

negatory, the leak jet is only about 1/4 inch long. its listed as a leak jet. it can be found on a 06 crf 450 carb schematic

Yep, the leak jet feeds the accelerator pump, tiny but the right size makes a big difference! It is located in the bottom of float bowl,Honda can get them but carb parts whse. got mine next day,i listed their # above.
