I was wondering if you have to upgrade your valve springs with a stage 1, or a stage 2 cam. If you have put a cam into your raptor, how do you like it? Does it wear any other components? What else do you have to do for installing a cam? (stage 1 or stage 2)

The stage 1 doesn't require the spring upgrade. The stage 2 does require the heavy duty springs.I am running a web cams 686/687 grind and the power is amazing

Are valve springs the only thing you have to change? How long have you been running your cam? Has the rest of your engine and clutch been holding up to the extra hp?

You arent making enough power with just a cam to make any kind of noticeable impact on the life of other components.

Stage 2's give quite a difference. Otherwise I wouldn't want to do it!

I have been racing my bike for a year now with no problems.I am running a 102mm(686) 12 to 1 JE piston, mild port and polish, web cam 686/687 grind, kibble white valve springs on the stock rod(people claim the stock rod is too weak for this set-up but I haven't had any problems and I know the guy who did my port/polish has been running about the same set-up for 4 years with no problems. The only bad thing about the 12 to 1 piston is it requires you to run race gas(last time I bought some it was $5 a gallon).I also upgraded to the GYTR clutch.
