Having trouble instaling swinger bearings

i got a pivot works kit, got the bearings in, now the pivot tube wont go in, i tried tapping it in, but its taking the bearing further down. whats the problem?

Is there a lot if buildup/corrosion in the swingarm? Run a steel wire brush through the axle bolt hole and then lube it up.

If you can find one of the long steel wires brushes for cleaning steel engine blocks it would be nice to stick in a drill and hone the hole.
