Thanks for taking the time to look...
We have a 2003 300EX that has hardly been ridden enough to be broken in but has been sitting for at least a year. We have been able to get it running but it smokes or shoots flames out of the pipe and will only run with the choke fully open. It has a HMF pipe (brand new) and a 125 jet I believe. (whatever HMF recommended). After we got it all put back together, plug changed, jet changed, carb cleaned, old gas drained, etc. then realized HMF also recommends to "adjust fuel mixture screw to the highest smooth idle. Approximate 2 1/2 turns from the bottom". We need to know if we have to take the carb back off to get to the screw, where is the screw located or what does it look like and if "from the bottom" means counterclockwise or clockwise. And if that is not what is causing the problem with it running properly what else could it be.????????? ANY HELP is MUCH appreciated!!! We have been working on this for days.
