I am about to buy a Predator, my heart is set on one. I found an 03 one that i like and i was looking at a dealership today at an 05. I dont really want to pay the extra 3000 for the 05. I know the suspenion is better and the new ones have reverse...but is this it? or is the engine also stronger?

Both the transmission and frame are stronger on the 05

I was in your shoes not long ago and I decided totally against the 03 because fo trans issues. I got a 05 troy lee and I'm 100% happy.

I agree at least go with an '04. I bought my '04 TLD a couple of months ago for $4600 it was a carryover still sitting on the showroom floor.

I HAVE A 03 AND MY CUZ HAS AN O5 AND HE LIKES THE 05 BETTER BUT I THINK THE 03 HAS BETTER HANDLING! THE 05 HAS A SHORTER SWING ARM SO IT WHEELES EASIER BUT OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE MY 03 AND SHE HALLS! THATS ALL THAT MATTERS TO ME!

When it comes to jumping, I'll take an 03 over an 05-06 anyday...

The rear shock is just too soft and can really adjust it out of it.

IF YOU GET AN 03 MAKE SURE THAT IT EITHER ALREADY HAS FRAME SUPORTS, OR IT SHOULD BE THE FIRST THING YOU PUT ON! BECAUSE MY 03'S FRAME JUST SNAPED! OF COURSE ITS ALSO HAD LOTS OF HARD RIDING FROM THE DAY IT CAME OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR! AND IT HAPPEND FROM CRASHING IT DIDNT JUST BRAKE ALL THE SUDDEN! BUT I STILL LOVE MY 03!

Where can you get frame supports for the 03s?

how much would you be paying for the 03, and for the 05? the 05 is probably the way to go, but if you are dishing out alot of cash you might as well buy a new 06 raptor 700 or 450 IMO. I got one helluva deal on my TLD pred, and i think it is a great machine, but when you start getting up in the dollar range, it is hard to beat the value of the 450's and 700r !
