Check the battery connections first, make sure they are clean and tight. Also check the connections at the relay.

After that I can never remember what to check, i'm not too fond of electrical issues:scary:

If the fuse blew the neutral light or anything else wont work.

I suppose the theres's the possibility the fuse didn't quite blow all the way......

Good Point JOEX!

When mine blew on the track, I could bump start it and the neutral light barely lit up, I rode it a couple miles home and then it would not start......I am no electrician, but that is what happened to me.

My buddies did that out on some trails once... I shook it real hard while pressing the start button and after a while it went... Check your connections at the battery first, thats what was wrong with his.. After that I have no clue.

just get a flat head screw driver turn off your key and check your connections and tighten them and clean them

one time when mine started good I tightened them before the race which was dead engine start and it started even better

yea i have fixed my 400ex and like 4 of my friends. what u have 2 do is take the head light assylemby out. and disconnect your wireing harness. the blue wire on the right headlight ( when sitting on quad). thats where the problem is. you will c where the rubber coating wore away an is hitting on the metal bracket that it rubs against. bend the bracket out of the way, patch the wire and put a new fuse in an ur good 2 go.

when the sylinoid is clicking, then the cylinoid is good. mine was clicking, and that is what i thought it would be, but instead, it was my battery.
