For a 450r..12:1 is the highest that you can go with running pump gas (93 octane). But you still can run race fuel in it also.
I run 100 oct, but If i NEED to run pump I still have that option:)

well what about a 06r....it already has a 12:1 and on the quad it says that it recomends 93 octane or higher...could i get a 13:1 and run on pump?

It also matters what cam you are running too. They say if you have a hrc cam and a 13:1 piston you might be able to run 93. I have a 13:1 and I run 105octane because I don't want to take any chances. 13:1 is also a huge improvement over stock!:macho

You can run 13:1 comp on pump gas, it's just cutting it close. Mix a 50/50 ratio of 93 and 100, it should come out to about 97 octane.

I run a CP 13:1 coated piston that's custom shaped on the dome.
