glowing headers

just got the ltr450 and the header glows red evertime i ride it, should i be concerned?

all the new 450s do that from the factory,their a little lean out of the box. dont worry all of them will do it,mine does,

Aye, due to emmissions laws, they run very close to the 14.7:1 a/f ratio mark to minimise emmissions. Makes the pipes nice and hot. The pipes are also fairly thin, and the bend is right at the head so it will glow. Nothing to worry about as long as you keep the peashooter/spark arestor in the silencer.

If you remove it, you need to get the $35 cherry bomb for the alternate fuel map.

My honda does that i love it at night when all you can see is a glowing header. My friends think its great if they forget there lighters they just use my header to light there cigs.
