Does anybody know if you can put a raptor or a predator carb on a 400ex because they say they are bigger and they will still fit and they flow more air threw the motor if so does anybody have one for sale

Put a TRX450r carb on your 400. I have one on my 440 but a friend of mine has on a 400. Look on Ebay trust me thats where i got mine.

yeah but the 450r carb has a computer in it and a censor but the 400ex doesnt so do i have to get a aftermarket 450r carb because they do not have a censor in them and a computer

I would not install a carb off another model quad.

Get a 450R carb and put it on, it will work just fine. I now because I have one installed.

But dont it have to be aftermarket because the stock 450 carbs have a computer in it and the aftermarkets dont and a 400ex carb does not have a computer so..............

it bolts right up with a 450 throttle cable and fuel line..

you tuck the wires out of the way...no prob...

i would say half an hour project depending on how good you are at jetting...

The 450r carb bolts right up to a 400ex. You dont have to worry about the computer in it. All i did was zip-tied it away from everything. The carb will work perfectly fine without being pluged into anything. The wires are only for a 450r but since you have a 400ex you dont need to plug anything up. If i were you i'd stick to Honda parts because once you start to put different company parts on it, you're starting to be on you own and it'll be hard to find help. Just put a 450r carb on it, if you want a bigger carb.

All you need is a razor blade to trim the inside of the rubber fitting off the motor into the carb, and then a little trimming and pushing for the rear one. If you have a mini torch it works wonders, trust me the rubber will stretch better if it's heated rather then pushing it on. When it cools down it will tighten down even more. It took me about 45min, just make sure you have a bigger fuel hose and I needed to trim the choke lever a little so it made things easier. Any questions feel free to ask.

Excuse me????????

how hard is it to push the carb into the intake boot and run a throttle cable?

then ziptie some wires and remove the choke lever....

how is that Halfazz????

I was trying to show people how quickly it could be done....

But thanks...your post was WAYYYY more informative

Hey im not saying your doing a halfazz job, i agree it doesn't take long. I actually did the same thing zip-tied some wires outta the way and threw the throttle cable on. It really doesn't take that long, if you know what your doing and efficient at it your good to go.
