rejetting

I have a 300ex with a DMC pipe and twin air air filter and take the air box lid off sometimes. should i rejet or not

Absolutely. Unless you live way up in the mountains or something, stock jetting is surely too lean to accomodate intake and exhaust mods.

Start with..

132 Main Jet
Stock Needle in 4th Slot (slot 1 is on blunt end)
42 Pilot
2.5 Turns out on screw (from seat).

Can probably get away with stock pilot @ 3 turns out.
