rear axle 400ex

i have a 400ex (2001) i am trying to remove the axel. i took everything off besides the brake stay.i cant get the axel through the other side. if someone can send me a detailed version of getting the axel out i would appreciate it thanks.

take the brake stay off

loosen the axle lock nut (its reverse threaded by the way) until it exposes the snap ring underneath it, remove the snap ring and pull the brake stay off
