06 450r header pipe

I can get a real real good deal on a hrc header pipe and spark arrestor . is it woth it to put it on my quad without the cam cause I dont wanna doa cam yet. its just a great price and Im sure I would have to jet it up to . what should I run Ive never jetted a carb on one of these b4 PLEASE HELP. thanks scott

How good is a good deal? I would say just get a full exhaust.

I say YES, you should have bought that yesterday! You should do a search to find out the exact jetting you need for the 06 carb. I beleive the 06 HRC main is a 165.

Are you going to run with or without your airbox lid?

Yes, you should have grabbed that right away. HRC Kit for the 06' comes with a 162 mainjet, new needle, a 55 leakjet and a 1/2 turn on the mixture screw (stock is 2 3/8 tunrs out). It also calls for pulling the lid. The mixture screw setting tells me you could bump up the pilot to a 45-stock is 42 on the pilotjet.

cool thanks for the info but another question. the jets and needle you say to use is for the complete kit installed with cam. Im not doing a cam so wouldnt that set up be a bit rich then?you see what I mean?I would think yes.so Im kinda lost or I could just be wrong lol ???????oh and if possible I would like to run the lid on or do you guys not reccomend it?
