i eventually plan to put a cr500 motor into my 400ex but have been told the cr500 motor will vibrate like crazy so i was wondering if a cr 500 topend would bolt right onto a 250 r bottom end or could i rubber mount the cr 500 motor somehow?

You can buy 500cc top ends built specifically to fit the 250r bottom end.

I think the company that did the CR500 topend conversions went out of business because their website does not owrk and I can not find them anywhere else on the net.

Here's the article (http://www.atvsource.com/articles/product_reviews/2002/011602_mac_racing.htm) about Mac Racing on ATV source.

I believe if you do a search on this site for sabertooth you can find the video.

the cr 500 motor will be fine for play riding.sure it may vibe a bit more than a stock motor but if your not doing a 1000mile barstow to vegas desert ride it doesnt matter.or even a 30 min moto.its pretty much a non issue for play riding.i have had my cr250 motor in my quad for years now, granted its a 250 but it still doesnt have a counter balancer, its not even a issue

I'll just go ahead and say that a 250 has no where near the vibration that a CR500 produces. I know this from experience! Although if you keep the revs down and let the bike lug a CR500 is one of the best woods bikes you can own.

Aye.. if you do run a cr500 motor.. a set of Flexx bars would probably be your best friend.. lol.

or u can be cheep and put silicone in your bars that stops alot of vibration and its not like 300$

Silicone or sand, neither will kill the vibration of a 500cc two stroke engine. Flex bars will help some as well as anti-vibe mounts. CR500 engines are known to crack engine mounts in a quad swap. They do work very well when done correctly though.

i would think the 500 top end on a 250r bottom end would not vibrate as bad due to the counterbalancer

and my friend has a 1200cc 3 cylinder in his sled...imagint that!;)

anyway i would just get some fast flex's and locktight all ur bolts and hope it dosent vibrate to much.
