im from northern KY and run a similar setup, but with a 426. I run a 178 MJ and a 45 pilot. Jetting seems very close,, as close as i can get without a dyno and a sniffer.

The MJ can be changed with the carb on, kinda hard but still easier than taking allthe plastic off. the pilot however has to be changed with the bowl off teh carb, which means removing the plastic and tank.

I just rejetted the other night again. I only have to take the black side pieces off and I can change any jet on the carb. Or you can just take the whole thing out. No need to remove tank.

No sorry man I can't help with jetting that 440. I am running a stock 400 with an LRD pro 4 system and amsoil 2 stage race filter. No engine work done. Sorry and good luck. Hopefully this will save you some time.

Cheers

yeah there is a clear piece that runs from your airbox and attaches under the gas tank. It is attached with one of those honda rivets. that has to come off too. then just loosen the screw clamp on the side of the carb closest to the air box and take the whole box out. then loosen the clamp in the front of the carb and twist the carb and it should pop out. be careful of all the hoses on the carb make sure everything is unhooked and it should slide out. You will be taking it out through the top of the frame. just take your time and it should be gravy. Again I have never taken the tank off for any reason. TAKE YOUR TIME. Good luck.

Dude if your just replacing the main jet why do you guys take parts of your quad off? All's you have to do is get to the 17mm cap on the bottom of your carb with the socket. The only time ive had to take my plastics off is when i messed with the needle and pilot jet.

yeah really all you have to do is take that cap off of the bottom of the carb, like he said 17mm then take a 6mm socket adn take out your main jet, its kinda hard to get started back in, but just remember that the jet goes back in a hole that is closer to the left side of the carb, i had to put the socket on it, with the rathcet attatched. and take pliers and spin the socket because there wasn' t enough room and friction to work the ratchet without loosing the hole.
im in the northern kentucky area also, but i run a stock motor with pipe and filter, soon to be camed and i just run a 155.
