Its time for a new quad again and i cant make up my mind. I either want a 450r or the 700 raptor. Ive rode the 450s and they are great machines, but I kinda of like to have something different, they are 4 450rs within a 2 mile radius of me and 0 raptors.
Which machine would be better for the trails and stock for stock which one is faster in a drag race and top speed? Thanks for any input

i would go with the Raptor. i know a guy who has one and loves it.

Top Speed = Raptor, that's a given.
For trails tho its all personal pref.

stock, the 700s are really powerful ive ridden one. its a complete torque machine, but fun to ride. it may be 400lbs but feels and handles great i thought. its also got very plush suspension and a very comfy seat.

the 450 is really nice too. not as much torque as the raptor, but it revs a hell of alot faster and handles better. ive got seat time on a 450r and i like it better than a raptor. you need a pipe to equal the torque of a raptor, but the suspension and handling makes up for it really fast.

for trails, both would be great. ride both and see what you like better.

BUT I would reccommend a 700 maybe to a larger person who could throw the thing around maybe a little better. The thing is just huge though...i would NEVER own one but whatever floats your boat

first off, let me say, i bleed honda red. i would not own anything other than a honda, until now.

i have a 06 450r and love it. the suspension is a little stiff, but it is a race bike and it is still on the stock settings.

this past weekend i rode the 700 for the first time...it is the ultimate trail bike...the power delivery was smooth and there was gobs of it. the suspension was plush and the seat was so soft. it did feel tall though. i was a little uncomfortable on it as the owner had the bars forward a little.( he is over 6 foot and i am only 5'3"). if i were to go buy a new bike right now, i would highly consider the raptor 700. but yamhas track record with reliability would probably put the honda in my garage again.( don't start with the yamaha is just as reliable, in my experience with equally well amitained machines, the yamis always needed work done and the hondas fired right up)

IMO.. I would get the 700R.

I love my 660R on the trails. I have not had a chance to ride a 700R yet, but with a lower seat hieght, wider stance, and Fuel Injection I could only imagine how great it would be. The 450R would make a better MX quad, but I would go for the 700R for a trail quad. Of coarse, I would buy an LTR-450 over a 450R for MX.

I love Fuel Injection! After owning FI and carbed motorcycles, I hate carbs. I will never buy another motorcycle or quad that doesn't have EFI.

700r my friends dad got one and it goes to fast that it suts off a 83mph because of a chip in the comp in the quad so i would go with that its an awsome quad.

Must have been falling off of a cliff because last time i heard stock quads don't go past 74 - 75.
