Come on dude. You have a $5000 machine...buy a $20 manual for it. You'll realize all the stuff you can do to it without paying someone else.

Glamis is this manual you are talking about the manual you get with the quad? or is it some manual to walk you through the inside of your bike?

He's talking about the Honda service manual.

Buy one.

Got the feeler gauges in and they feel fine, like they are tight, but loose enough to slide the gauge back and forth with ease.....

so if its not the valves?? what is rattling/ticking?? cant really find any lose bolts though??

please hurry on this...thanks so much??

Since you don't have a manual....

Are you sure the engine is on the right stroke?

If it's the stock cam, then you might have a stuck decompressor. While the spark plug is loose and you have a socket on the crank, shake the crank clockwise and counter clockwise. That should free it. Also, as a measure of preventative maintenance, use a product called SeaFoam in your oil. Follow the instructions. It really does help.

I did that thing, shaking it back and forth and nothing seemed to free up...??

well i guess the valves are fine... so it must be something else rattling, but i cant find it!! Well what my question is, is that does it matter if the valve caps are torqued down right? because the torque wrench i have goes from like 0-60 in incriments of 20...so its to hard to figure it out...please someone help me on all these questions i have..Thanks so much...

Just gently snug up the caps. They only require 11 ft-lbs or torque which isn't much.

Well it could possibly be your main bearing that sounds liek rattling, Also another thing your cylinder could have a crack and that could be your rattling. I'd probably send your motor in and have someone look at it if your tha worried.

I'ts probably not it, but take your heat shield off, even if you think its tight, and see if the noise goes away.
