2 questions on porting -

1. Do they need the piston to port it

2. Should I go ahead and put new rings in while everything is apart?

1- Maybe. They could modify the piston. The only one that can answer is the one who is going to port your cylinder. They may also need your whole motor, if they are going to deck it to precisely set the port timing.

2- Yes, never a bad thing to replace them.

depends on how wild yur going. sometimes u can get away with just sending the jug. usually its a good idea to send the entire top end.

replace the rings and have the whole top end cryoed. best 100$ yull ever spend.

He isn't going too wild, I'm having abuddy of mine's dad do it. He's doing it for free.

He ported his own (stock jug) and man is it FAST. Way faster than mine.

I'm not going to get this jug cryoed because I won't have it much longer; I plan on getting some type of aftermarket jug in the near future... Thanks for the info though - I will have it done to the new one.

It's some type of flash freezing technique that hardens materials. It will made it last longer.
