Help Please!

My buddy just got a '86 250r and has only done a few things to it. Our problem is we don't exactly know where the air/fuel screw should be set. It has a UNI filter and an outerwear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stock air/fuel setting for an 86 is 1 7/8 turns out. I would start there, and if you have to turn it out a little more.

Thanks man I'll let him know. We set it at 1 3/4 and I guess it just wasn't enough. We're four stroke riders, so we're not very experienced on how a good idle should sound, but I'm sure we'll figure it out. I appreciate your help
