my 400 just recently sliped in 3rd gear so now i'm thinkin of selling it to get a car should i rebuild it or just sell it i need help fast.

i live on a farm and thats where i work so driving isnt a problem.

When you say slip did the clutch slip or did you accidently hit a false netrual?

it happened in 3rd gear i think it sliped i dont know what else.

If it's slipping, then you will just need some new clutch plates, and maybe new clutch springs. It's not that expensive to replace those parts, and it's easy to do. But it's your decision which is more important to you right now, a car, or a quad.

ive decided to not get a car for no how much would it cost to get all that stuff and is aftermarket stuff better for the clutch.maybe it could be my shifting forks or a gear is chipped .

It's the clutch. If it was a shifting fork, or a chipped gear, it wouldn't slip. It would ether not go into gear, or you wouldn't be able to shift into certain gears.

As for the clutch plates, I would sugest OEM honda clutch plates. To find the price you can look them up at www.servicehonda.com

today when i rode it didnt do it so i think i'll let it go but if it does it again thats what i'm gonna replace.would u guys recamend the side case with the removable clutch cover from james lucky does anybody have one or is it a waste thanks for your knowedge i didnt want to rip my motor apart and then it would be the wrong thing.
