Ok, today we were replacing my axle bearings on my 250, and i have a problem. We cant get the bearing out on the gearcase side, it just won't budge. What can we do to make it easier? Do we need to take it to a welding shop to heat it up? I'm kindof stuck here. Any help would be appreciated.

make sure its grease free and stick it in your oven on 300* for about 15 min. then try hammering or press it out.

yes ive done it with my atc 350x's axle bearings. when your ready to press the new bearings in, put the bearings in your freezer for about 4 or 5 hours. Then do the same with the carrier by putting it in the oven, this time maybe 30 min@250*. this will expand the carrier and contract the bearings, making it easy to press in the new bearings.

Yes, I've done it and it works great. There is a thread on this at the bottom of the FAQ forum.
