Yep, sounds like it's not jetted right. Remove the main jet and see what size they put in there.

In my experience, dealerships rarely get jetting correct. I attribute that to 1) they don't care and 2) you've got to ride the thing to fine-tune the jetting. Lots of dealerships don't have the facilities available to do that. The result is they just guess and give it back to you.

Is it popping and backfiring, or more of a blurp? 165 sounds lean to me.

If you still have the airbox lid on, a 165 is way too rich. it is popping on top end because it is running rich. take off the airbox lid and try that. If you take the lid off, you may have to bump it up to a 175 main jet. the HRC kit comes with a 162 main, and it will do the same thing with the airbox lid on. sounds too rich to me. If it was too lean, it would not pop or backfire under acceleration.

air box lid is on,not backfiring just fast popping, quits pulling until i let off throttle a little then starts to pull again.

Well, did you pull the lid off and try running it? I say too rich also for lid on. Also, did you check your plug? I have a full Rossier, lid off, and Web cam and have a 165. The lid will make a huge difference in jetting.

I took lid off and it ran fine,no cutting out, can bury the throttle and it keeps pulling, however i dont want to run with lid off so do i need a smaller main jet?was thinking of installing the uni air box vents,i think it comes with 6 in a package.6 one inch holes..would this help out??

The HRC kit tells you to remove the lid on a 06 !!

You definetely need a smaller jet. I would try a 145 or 150 with the lid on. A vented lid would help out a lot. But make sure you put a bigger jet in with the vented lid.

My 450r did the same thing when I jetted it..Dude, idk if 06's have the same airbox lid, but you can cut your stock lid to mimick the HRC lid, if you either cut it, or have the HRC lid, My buddy and I were creative one day, and took two book socks(store boughten mesh type book covers) and put them over the lid for like a prefilter!! Works great and catches almost all the dirt, without preventing airflow!!

Not with the lid on! It's already drowning. I personally would remove the rear half of the lid like the 04-05 HRC kit.
