make sure that when you think u have it set at TDC that all of the valves are shut and there should be some play in rocker arms.

Im also 15 and I just did mine last night.Anyways so far you are right. If you want you can check the Articles link at the top of the page and that will tell you how to adjust valves on a 400ex somewheres there.I only had paper to use instead of feeler gauges though.Hope that was good enough but I know alot of the ticking sound I was hearing is gone.

Oh and make sure its the t mark not the f looking one. Also in the guide is says only to turn the engine counter clockwise.I dont know why but I did it that way anyways.

Never heard of using paper!

I'd get some proper feeler guages pronto--they don't cost much.

Yea I know it probally wasnt good for it but I took it all apart to find out we didnt have any feeler guages anymore.Im going to try to find some and redo it this weekend.Besides that though the job seemed easy.

HEY I AM ALSO 15 AND I DID MINE LAST NIGHT! NO KIDDING!.............. look at the articles section on this website it tells you how to adjust your valves ........ intake is .004 and exhaust is .005 ........................ make sure you are on the right stroke by making sure your rocker arms have a little freeplay in them
