cutting plastics

I want to cut my plastic but im not sure how to do it. Is their any thing that i could put on my plastics and trace to make sure their both the same. What should i use to cut them?

Electrical tape or masking tape will work well to mark your cut line. I just peeled up the tape and eyeballed it to get them the same. I also measured across a few points on the fender as a guide when I put on the tape. I used a jig saw with a fine toothed blade to cut mine. You could also use a dremel tool but the jigsaw is faster. Then use a fine tooth file to clean up the cut edges followed by some fine grit sand paper. I even used a heat gun to smooth out the lines from sanding. When I finished it looked like a factory edge.

these are really old pics but they should help...lol i cant stand the look of that bumper anymore...but anyways, i did the whole electrical tape/sand paper thing too, just cut on the outside of your tape to leave you some space to mess up, then file it down to where you want it. i used a propane torch to shine up my edges, really makes them look factory. (you can also use a handsaw to do it with a little more control, thats what i used)

Wow that really does look factory cut. Im going to do it eventually im just scared that im going to screw it up lol. Thanks for all the help it is really going to come in handy.

haha yea i know what you mean...the hardest part bout the whole thing for me was commiting to actually doing it, but now that i have i'll never go back to full fenders.

just remember one thing. Youwill get covered in mud/water 10x's faster than you would with cut fenders.

not really, i dont get any more muddy with cut fenders than i do with full fenders, most of it just goes past you

mabey. mainly depends on what you ride in. I wouldnt cut mine riding in this.

Thats what my buddy was saying that it is alot more muddy without fenders but i have to do it my one side has a big crack all the way across. Would it help having extended a-arms?

haha if your afraid of a little mud maybe you shouldnt be on a quad. j/k, but IMO its worth it to sacrifice a slight inconvenience for much better looks and permormance.
