A week or so ago some buddies and I went out to the dunes and I rode a 250 punched out to a 330r all I can say is WOW! That thing was scary fast, fun has hell, but I will stick with my 4 stroke, i would kill myself in the woods with that 330r.

I hear ya man, my buddy has a 330R and i rode it out in the open field and thought man this thing is fast. Then we went to the woods and i smack a tree real fast! I couldn't hold on to that thing for very long if i was in an XC race that's for sure!

I used to woods ride my 310R all the time. Once you get used to it, its a blast.

I would take my LTR450 over my old LRD/Laeger 310r any day. Its time for 2 strokes to take a dirt nap.

I don't care what four stroke quad you have, you still cannot beat the thrill of a modded out 250R or Banshee hitting the powerband!!!

you people will never stop bashing on the 2 strokes eh? 4 strokes are newer yes, but it will NEVER EVER have the handling of a 250r, the motors are like 3 times the size. im not bashing on the 4 strokes either cuz i jus got one :D . but seriously 2 strokes have there good and bad points. and 4 strokes also have there good and bad points

CT_330R was your R in ATVSPORT? You said it took $22,000 to get it like that?

And I say 250r's for life.

I'm lookin for one, think I got a good hit with one.

2-strokes are awsome, power. Instant power with a 2-stroke, or slowly movin up rpms with a four

I love 250r's:macho The first 250r I rode was the one that I built. The fact that I spent a year and 2 months, and about 4 grand on it just made it all the better.

My cousin just got a 450r and them my other cousin asked me if I found a 250r and I'm like I think I got one lined up.

So my cousin with the 450r asks me why I want a 2-stroke. I'm like, why do you want a 4-stroke, cuz 2-strokes sound and smell good, uh, hardcore powerband, instant roost/wheely/kickin your *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was on the way out to his house for easter and I saw a 250r on a trailer I stop in and they are eatin I'm like, dang this is rude, sorry. They come up to the door anyway and I ask if the guy that owns it wants to sell it or knows of one for sale, then a guy in there goes "Its the same guy who didn't want to sell the other one." I'm like wtf. Turns out it was the guy I talked to like 3 weeks ago askin if I could buy his other one cuz he has 2. I'm like "Brad is that you?" Hes like "Yeh, I haven't forgot about you though." I'm like "Sweet." LoL

Funny little story if you were there.

I'll take premix and a wicked powerband over valve lash adjustments and timining chains any day of the week.

Hell, if a the pro's still rode 2-strokes most of you 4-poke lovers would be trying to emulate them. :p

That is exactly what I said the first time I rode an R. I have rode some pretty mean 4 strokes, and they are a lot of fun, but the 250r is a legend, I have wanted one forever, and I finally have it. I guarentee that if I had a full MX 450r, with the best of everything, I would still want a 250r. Both machines have their good points and bad points. A lot of people who have never ridden an R talk about them, and once they get off of one they just say wow.

i would have to say i was pretty impressed the first time i rode my neighbor's R....i had only ever ridden one other 2 stroke and that was my blaster...it was a world of difference...i liked it more than my friend's yfz but the r was piped and had aftermarket suspension the yfz was all stock

I've ridden some pretty well built 265r's and a pv 265r but I'll be damned those 330r motors are insane if they are built right.

I have never ridden a new four strole but if they are anything like the older ones- they can have them. We have a 1990 Yamaha Warrior bored to a 440- you think it would be fast, that thing is a turd compared to my R.

I am going to go ride a buddies new yfz loaded with alba stuff as soon as my foot heals- I will tell him to ride my R and see what he says. Ill just say make sure you hang on *****es

My buddy has a modded 250R and it is fun to ride behind him because you can't beat the smell of a 2-stroke, especially when they run Klotz.

Nice come back rmz250.

I got an 89 250r today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, talk about awsome. I just give the bars a slight tug and can ride a wheelie. I sat on the gas tank and just a little pick up and I carried the front end and rode a wheelie.

1 word

AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm the happiest person on earth. Can't wait to go ride!

lol, maybe your 300ex couldnt rev, but any 450 will rev as quickly as a 250r, not that that matters at all because the power delivery is so different.

I have this race season, and next on my 300ex. And then I am getting a 250r. The main reason is that they are Cheaper to buy and cheaper to mod then the new 450's. Plus everyone says that they kick arse.

330R's are about the biggest bore that can be reliable... sounds like he didnt break it in right.

Yeah man, my buddys 330r has 2 seasons on it and the compression is perfect etc. The 265 he had had a year on it and still ran strong before he went with a 330.

If your friend blew a head gasket he either runs the piss out of it and doesnt know how to ride a 2 stroke (no offense) or he didnt break it in properly. That or the motor was poorly built.

Yea i dont know but he was sick of a 2 stroke anyway so now theres a yz426 in the frame its almsot done im sure hell put pics up on here or i will when its done. id like to have a banshee or 250r just to play around on. But ill never race anything but a 4 stroke.

some of us old timers who know the clutch and can hear exactly when our engine is in the power are a LOT faster on 2-strokes then 4... but yes, we are a dieing breed. its really a shame... im not saying that theres a lot more skill in riding a 2-stroke. just that its a different kind of skill.. sort of finness (2-stoke) vs. brute force (4 stroke)

Yeh man, back in the day when I got into this I was like 6 I'd say, then I got a dirtbike and raced, and all that raced, on the flatrack at least was a full line of 250r's.

And even on mx, every single bike was a 2-stroke, in dirt bikes.

Now last Saturday at the races it was all yfz's and 450r's. It kills me, but thats just how times change. If I could go back to how it was 10 years ago I would appreciate it even more.

Yeh, 2-strokes are made for ridin hard, and hang on cuz they hit hard. LoL. 4-strokes you can lug and take it easy on. Easier on the body but not near as fun!
