Ok .. i got the socket.. now how in the world do i break it loose???
Ive beat the ratchet with a hammer and pulled and everything and the nut will not budge.... any ideas on how i can get this thing loose????

thanks

FIRST you have to tighten it inwards....this will reveal a Cclip that is around the axle. you undo this cclip and it will slide right off ;)

Wait.. are we talking about the same nut?... the nut on the end of the axle that holds on the hubs.... it wont come off... do i have to tighten it down then loosen it??? cause it wont budge either way... what do i do????

thanks

When I was changing my axle out I had to take the bike to a tire shop and have them put the major impact on it to get it loose!
He was talking about the axle clip.

Heat it up, and then try sticking a steel pipe on the end of the wrench to increase leverage. That should get it to break.

It's a 27mm. How many standard sized bolts have you removed from your quad????

Definitely recommend having an extension like a steel pipe to fit over your ratchet to give you more leverage. Obviously, the longer the easier to loosen. (My steel pipe is about 2 1/2 feet long that fits over the ratchet).

Oh... By the way, 27 mm is the same as 1 1/16". :D Either socket will work.:macho

Reference: One inch = 25.4 mm (25.4 times 1.0625 equals 26.99... or 27.:D )

Good luck!:)
