04 or 06

hey guys where i live all the bikes go on sell and you can get a 450r for 4999 about new in january and im wondering if it is worth the extra money to get to 06 over the 04

id just get the 04 and the HRC kit. the 06 I heard needs A LOT more engine maint. done to it due to the higher compression and whatnot. to me as a recreational rider its not worth that extra money of tearing the engine apart every 25 hours or what they call for 15 hours you need a new piston

Engine maintence? Not anymore than the 04-05s. I've had an '04 and now have an '06....same maintence regime. If you can afford the '06, get the '06.....its a better machine all the way around. Better motor, better carb, better rear end.....the '06 runs way better with the same mods.

Change the oil on a regular basis and keep a clean air filter on it....it will last forever in stock form.

Dealers have 05 new for under 5k... They are giving them away...
don't buy an 04 for the same $$$$

thanks for the info i think that this summer im going to save up some money over the summer and get a 06 new once the 07s come out so i can buy one on sale
