Quick question

i recently bought a 450r from someone local and they said you did the frame before. and the finish looks great, but i dont like the color. i was supposed to get it re-powder coated through a local company but they are giving me the run around. they wanted me to buy the powder i wanted to use to save on cost, so now i have a pound of shrin candy blue just sitting around. i just need the frame done(not the sub) in this color. if i send the powder will it be cheaper? how much to coat just the frame? sorry for all of the questions. i just want to get this done before it gets to warm out.

Ive seen on here that you sell burgard parts. This is an odd request but can you sell me just the bottom clamp for a 450r b/c i lost the original one i had when i was tearing it down.? i was putting everything in baggies today and i cant seem to find it anywhere. i need an oversize bottom bar clamp.

how much to do these. already bare. i was thinking shimrin candy blue to match the frame. the uppers will be done in about 2 weeks. i was going to send these and have you do them to match the frame. the uppers i think will be done in a black.

just seeing if the a arms got there ok. you can send them back before the frame if you like b/c i have to go get the bearings/king pins installed. but if it is easier on you , you can send them back withthe frame.

not as of 1pm when i was there. i know it has me jammed, but boy are they getting behind:( i bet they have 3000 feet of wrought iron fence and god knows how many trailers and stuff just waiting to get thru the process. I offered them my help, but it is in the hands of the manufacture. I have my fingers crossed they get back on track tomorrow.

your arms are all boxed and labeled, DHL will pick them up tomorrow, im geussing thrusday or friday you will have them

What exactly do they do to the frames. I heard somewhere before that some places actually burn or melt the paint off. Is that what they do? Wont that weaken the metal due to expanding and contracting from the heat?

On powdercoated frames, yes, they use a burn off oven that is computer controlled and an interior misting system. The temps and time used will not harm most items, if there is concern other methods are used.

After the parts are burnt off, wether that be a frame, an a arm or lawn furniture, the parts are run through a media blasting machine. Its a conveyor system that the parts ride on, then they are turned or flipped and another pass is made. Once this si complete, any areas missed are hit by hand.

The shop I work with really does everything from small things to huge parts. Stock car chassis are not uncommon, nor heavy industrial beams and the like. Its pretty cool to see a full on operation, but I am glad I am small and specialized:p
