Carb Float

There's something wrong with the float in my carb.

It used to leak a little, and I went inside and adjusted the float level by bending the little clip.

It ran like ****, so I took it apart and adjusted it until the float needle just sat, and when the floats lift it lifts as soon as they start to move. Now it looks like a pissing dog, even when it's running (It never used to leak while running.)

Any help on this would be appreciated.

The factory spec for float level hight is 18.5mm. That's measured from the bottom of the float to the carb body (the sealing surface between the carb body and the float bowl). When measuring don't push the float up enough to compress the spring in the float needle. You want to measure when the float needle just touches the needle seat.
