When you guys take out your chokes and up your piolt jets do you remove just the plate or the arm it attaches to as well? I just put in a 45 piolt and removed the plate. I couldn't figuar out how to remove the arm. Also do you guys take over the yellow lever as well? Seems like it might be likely to allow dirt to enter the carb.

The black plastic cap pops off the end of that choke arm and you go from there. You slide the rod out and put the black cap back on. I then wrapped it with electric tape just incase. I left the yellow choke lever on.

I am in the mits of installing my 416 kit. I am in Nebraska. I have the 416 bore on an 11:1 compression piston with the hot cams stage 2, K&N filter and complete White Brothers R4 system. I was told to remove the choke plate and start with a 165 main and either a 45 or 42 piolt. Is the 180 main jet a little rich? Its 90+ degress here but your down south sea level is different.

Ya, Have you ever fouled a plug? I can't believe that with the hot cams stage 2 you still have stock valve clearence. .004,.005. Makes me wonder how much bigger the cam is? Are you running any type of cam? I just got done with all that decompression removal the spring and the plunger. I some how can seem how to get the sprocket flange off the old cam looks like the machine shop will have to press it off.

I picked the 416 kit because I didn't want to bore big. I also wanted to use the stock valve springs and rockers. I think the 11:1 will wake up the motor. I don't know if I will need race gas. I am thinking 92 octane + some outlaw octane booster. If you mix more booster I think it would up it maybe 1 or 2 to 94 or so. I am going to run one tank of plan 92 and see what happens then maybe some 50 50 mix. You run race gas?

i run 100 octane i guess its easy for me to get it at the gas station there is a union 76 near the house and ill sometimes mix a little 93 with it.
