:confused: wondering what mod could liven this z400 up with out getting too costly. Does a pipe do all that much and if I got a pipe do I need to jet the carb and how much power would that give it. Also is the four stroke more apt to generate more power if it is not restricted or if there is more back pressure? Also wondering about getting a cam.

the first thing you want to do is get a uni filter, outerwears cover for it, and take the air box lid off. once u do that get a 175 main jet(give or take with different elevations) and it will run GREAT. great mod for cheap.

get a PIPE! get a PIPE! then jet it--i dont know about a 175 that seems a little huge, and a pro-flow k&n intake kit with an ehs lid. its night and day between stock and a new pipe, jet and filter!

on my dads 04 z400, i just put on a uni filter, outerwears, and took the airbox lid off and a 175 main jet was perfect.

no kidding? man i cant go over a 160 or it starts acting silly. you may be at a different alt though. who knows. he doesnt have a pipe though?
