well, me and a few buddies went riding saturday. Great day, lots of fun right up unitl towards the end. Got lots of pics, but very few are of quads riding.

IT all started when my buddy decided to take his truck out and park the quad. We had to use this truck to haul the quads and us back home. He was doing great. not doing anything too extreme, driving conservatively, and trying to keep it out of trouble. He went up and down some pretty gnarly hills, one he went down was really steep. In one of the gullies, there was a new jeep rubicon stuck, burried bad, like this.

he had to drive around a small hole to get to the jeep, plenty of room. well it turned out he was not paying enough attention and dopped a tire in the hole. After working it around, he just made it worse. Here it is, 2000 Chevy S-10 Zr2, cranked t-bars, 32x11.50-15 tires.

about 6-inches of water in the floorboards

it took two hours to get it out. once we got it out, more problems. Low on oil, runnign rough, loss of power, messed up alignment(done the day before) Started heading down the road, limping it home, then it overheated, pulled over to let it cool off

started going again, overheated again. happened every 3-5 miles. Got to a spot to unhook the trailer, wen to a car wash, to spray out the radiator, still 1 hour from home. filled up with gas, oil and tranny fluid. went to take off and it sticks in low range, and the oil pressure begins to drop. so now we are stuckin 4 wheel low, overheating, low on oil pressure, mud soaked carpet, 1 hour from home. we ended up calling his dad to get teh quads, left the truck. i have yet to hear if he got the truck back yet and if so, what problems he is still having.

Good pics!! That is why you have a beater truck to go offroading and mudding and your everyday truck.

Now I don't know this guy's financial situation, but at what point in time do you realize that you are driving a fairly new truck (and one that may be your only form of transportation) and you're a real dick for doing something so stupid.

I thought the same thing as you for so long, about 20 years or so. Take care of it, it has to last, im not going to do that because it might mess up my stuff.

But as I've gotten older and in the last 5 years or so ive realized sometimes you just have to have fun and let it rip. The truck will be fixed and some good memorys will be laughed about years down the road.

Trucks arent really made for mudding. We got a 4X4 Ranger once. First thing my dad wanted to do was go through some mud. So we went up the field when it rained the day before. Maybe 3-4" of mud. Just enough to throw a roost n get it muddy.

That fun little 15 second mud busted a tie rod n the bearings in the front tires went out

yep, i dont really take my diesel truck in around water/mud - diesel engines and water do NOT mix... too easy to mess the motor up, but I take the old 2x4 F-150 where ever I can thats muddy....

the winch died, thats why we were trying to pull him out. the same truck that pulled us out got the jeep out easily.

you have to know the guy, he beats this truck like there is no tomorrow. the tires are less than a week old on it and he has gone four wheeling everyday he has had them. as far his his finances, he will be working alot of overtime to get this fixed, it was his only means of transportation that ran. i think he is going to fix a little ranger he has to drive for now.
