i was told the xr400 is almost identical to the 400ex eccept for electric start and reverse.

i was thinking about puting an xr400 in my 250r chassis.

i know this is the 400 page but all i get from the 250r page is dont cut up the r.

im not to into 2 strokes so i want a 4 stroke but i love my r setup.

anyone have any input on the xr400 as a power plant:)

i wouldnt even try to do that.

slap a yz 400, yz426, yz450 or a crf 450 engine in there. the xr400 motor has little hp.

how much hp do they have?

i like the 426 and 450s but have you priced them lately hell i might as well buy a different quad.

i have the 400 complete bike so its way cheaper for me

would'nt the xr be better than the 250r motor. i mostly do trails and i want to try my hand at cc racing, mainly trail haulin.
im mainly looking for torque and bottom end power.

if it was me id just leave the r engine in there, or get a yz426 engine or crf engine... the xr400 engine isnt really worth it.
