Nice looking motor there Chad. :) Looks like you may need a different taper on the needle to get a little more fuel at 4400 rpm.. but I'm by far no expert on these things. ;) You certianly know a LOT more than I do about these things.. lol.

actually, we had performed a needle test with perfect 13:1 a/f in the needle range.

We did learn that the lean condition on the main dyno pull runs only occurs at the initial WOT for a split second. Needs more fuel- yes, but snappy as h3ll.

Makes perfect sense.. since it's not a progressive application of the throttle, but WoT right off the bat, you're gonna run lean for about a half second since it takes air velocity to pull fuel into the carb, and since air is elastic you're gonna get some high volume low velocity air flow into the engine before the proper amount of fuel gets sucked up through the jet.
