Im looking at some new tires but cant decide between the HD's and the new GNCC's. How do they compare, other than the GNCC's being lighter than the HD's.

Thanks,
Keith

the gnccs are accuallty a bit heavier, but not much.

the gnccs will be good for all around xc use, but the hdswill still be best for rockier, or muddy situations

I could have sworn Colby said that the GNCC's were quite a bit lighter?

The GNCC's are 5lbs. lighter per tire. I ran a full set of GNCC's at the farm in Iowa way muddy and they hooked up! Very good tire they track very good and slidding is very predictable.

the ITP website only says they are a "lighter tire" don't know what Yokely is comparing them to, but who knows

Weight was checked with 75% tread Holeshot HD on stock rim. Changed the tires to the GNCC's same rim. The scale used was a shipping scale as well. 5 lbs. per tire lighter :eek2:

Spanky is right I weighed the tires myself the rear GNCC tire is 5 pounds lighter than a rear HD. As for the fronts they are pound lighter than the 22'' razrII

Why don't you like your HD fronts?

I was thinking about doing the opposite: HD fronts and GNCC rears.

They just don't turn like the razr2s I run now. Hopefully the GNCC's will hook up like the razr2s:) The rear HD's are the best rear tires I've ever ridden:macho but 5lbs is a lot I might switch to GNCC's all the way around:blah: How do the GNCC's do in the rocks?

Why not GNCC's in the rear, and Razr2's in the front? ;) I don't mind mixing brands. I'll stop when they pay me too. :D

Actually!!!

The rear ITP HD in a 20-11-9 weighs in at 21 lbs 3 oz (slightly used)

The Rear GNCC in the same size weighs in at a scant 14 lbs (New)

So you save 14lbs 6 oz or more........I weighed them twice! And my scales are accurate.....believe it!

:huh

I just got some 20" klaws on my rear of my 300ex and this monday, I am ordering a set of the new GNCC front tires. One of the expert riders had them at the track and they looked 10x's better than the Razr II. The tread depth was just amazing.

Plus, the klaw front doesnt come in a 6 ply and I got a better deal on the GNCC's.:D
