they are not too loud, the hmf and tc are louder. mine was cheaper than buying a hmf...

yoshimura is one of the quietest pipes. big gun is loud

EDIT you could get an e-series, it has disks so you can adjust the sound level

Yup go with the E-Series..... You can adjust the loudness of it.... Pretty good sounding pipe to.

yea i must say i heard REALLY good reviews on the whites e-series but i havent had the time to go look ta them but i know i have to look at all of them...and also how hard is it to change the disks?? TIME??

if you keep the spark aresster in then they are pretty quiet. but when you take them out is when they are loud. oh yea, i bought my yoshi off of motosport.com brand new, for $360. it was the RS3 full comp series,

the eseries arnt bad pipes. ive heard them on a 400 before a friend of mine sold his 400 ex, and it wasnt bad. i heard it w/ 4 disks and 12 disks. they dont sound too bad w/ 4 disks, but still offer the "pipe" power.

i have an HMF with a quiet core (96db) and it is pritty quiet but still gives me alot of power.

if you have all disks in it its pretty loud, if you have like 3 its quiet, it almost sounds like a deep stock pipe

F*** YEA!!! thats what i want is a DEEP sounding slip on! not one of those gay sounding pipes like on the banshee!! TOO high pitched! but thats why i was looking into big gun! arent they deep and not that loud??

big gun is loud, but white brothers gives your that deep sound AND you can adjust the sound level by adding/removing disks

more disks = more airflow = louder = more topend

less disks = less airflow = quieter = more bottem end

choose wisely:blah:



EDIT: the only way your gonna get a pipe that sounds like a banshee, is if you get a 2 stroke, only a 2 stroke engine will make that "scream"

Dr. D makes really good pipes that aren't loud at all. They have good power gains over stock, are pretty lightweight, and like I said, aren't very loud, but have a nice deep sound.

When you bottom out with the e series don't they hit the rear brake caliper b/c all the ones i see at little sahara have dents on the inner pipe like by the air box

Nope, all of the ones I've seen for the 400ex's have that, but thats how there built.... I got mine brand new, and so did my dad from two different dealers, and both were the same...... Its just how there made, nothing wrong with em... I love mine to, you can make it about the same loudness of the stock pipe, but it sounds way better with the e-series..... Defintely thats the way to go..

Well if you lived by me, I would let you try mine quad out with it on..... But trust me its a pretty nice pipe, maybe not the best, but still pretty nice..... And for $215 shipped, and a free filter with it, it was worth it to me... Seeing that my dad paid about $230 and didn't even get a filter...
