why does my 400ex make a ticking noise when it gets warmed up. Like i'll start for the first time of the day and it wont tick But after a little of riding a ticking noise will gradually get louder. say if i wash it with cold water and cool the motor down. i'll start it and it wont tick. But then when i go riding it will start again.AND I AM SICK OF IT I AM AFRAID ILL MESS SOMETHING UP

COULD BE MAIN BEARINGS...THEY DO THAT ....QUIET WHEN COLD ..LOUD WHEN WARM

check your valve clearance...

if tats not it..its probably just because its a 400ex..they like to tick

get a higher octane gas
