what is the best way to make a 2001 400ex basicaly race ready for like $700. Just engine performance i have suspension taken care and also exhaust. and i would like to not have to use any higher octane fuel then straight from the pump.

i heard of using a 450r carb and a crank? how much would that do if i bored it and what cam the hot cams stage 2?

11:1 piston 416,426 stage 2 cam and about 170 to 180 jet.....and a higher rev box ...hummm and new gasket kit....all this for about $400

its getting late....
anyways.
a 416 with 10.8:1 je piston, cosmetic thin gaskets. stage 2 hotcam. lightened flywheel, p&p. over sized valves.
rev box
is what I was running last year. a good set up. the lightened flywheel was fast but a real p-i-t-a when it came to any kind of trails.
