would a cordless sawzall be useful to cut saplings about 1" in diameter to make a trail? Should I try to cut below dirt even though it will dull the blade, it might save a tire. I live in Rhode Island where our state is so small I can't pick an area that is open and a loud gas chainsaw will give my spot away so stealth is important. What other tips to build a new trail through the woods.

Are you the only one riding these trails and are they on your land or public property?

i cut about 6 inches above the ground. that way i can see it. and form the trail just around it. after abou 50 passes the ground will be loose around it and the tree will just work its way out of the ground. this is for 1" or less. anything over that i cut as close to the ground as possible and just run over it. it won't get a tire unless you leave a sharge edge. if youc an't use a chain saw...how the hell do you ride there without giving it away?
