Has anyone ever tried wrapping their exhaust on their quads? I've seen it done on motorcyle's and high performance cars. they claim it disapates the heat and give less back pressure. i wanna know if anyone has tried it. if not what the heck i'll give it a whirl when i get my quad back together

I had the header on mine wrapped for about a year. it works well to keep the heat of your leg but I don't think there was really any performance gains. The header tape just traps moisture and rusts out the header. After only one season my pipe looked like corn flakes when I removed the wrap. It would be okay if you only run drags or even in the dunes but for trails/woods riding it doesn't work that well.

A better alternative would be to get the pipe ceramic coated. It works much better and it actually holds up very well on the trails.

You could look in your local phone book under coatings/performance coatings. Or I think pappy has someone that does them too. You could ask him in the BK Performance section. If anything he can send you in the right direction.

i was thinkin about doin this just because i put my pipe back on yesterday and i couldent get it on all the way and still blot it up on the frame for some reason, so now there is air shootin out where the pipe and the headers meet, will this wont cause any problems will it ?

The trick is to seal it with DEI high temp silicone sealant developed to seal exhaust wrap
