stoc 450R vs. modded KFX

i got a kfx with the mods listed in my profile. my friend is porbly gettin a 450R soon. shuld i be able to beat him in a drag? if not should it be close?

he'll beat you...you'll need some more engine mods than what you have to beat a 450r, I own both bikes...

this is true i had a kfx 440 with cams and a carb and i could somtimes beat a 450 with just a hrc kit but a stock bore bike will get walked on

you will not even hang close with you friend...he wil beat you pretty bad.....add some cc's it wil be a completely differnt story....you will beat him...you will need more then jsut a pipe

i have a freind with a kfx400 with a 440 kit . Ive raced him a few times and I havent lost yet. I belive i was 5-6 quad lengths by the time i ran out of road shifing into 5th. Now nothing against the 440kit cuz we switch sometimes so he can ride the 450r but i enjoy myself on both.

with a stock carb it should be somwhere around a 165 if below a thousand feet

i raced a guy on my kfx and he had a 450R. about the same riding skill. i had him out the hole thru 1st 2nd and 3rd and then he smoked me. i rode his bike afterwards and the Rs 1 and 2 gears r kinda tall. i love my kawi but i tell you what the R has some balls.

wish i wouldev bought one. the worst part of it was trying to hill climb with the gears bein so tall. he said you gotta feather the clutch to keep the front end from poppin on u and keep it from stallin. but ive had a few backward rolls on my kfx goin up sum steap hills so i think i stick with that.

yea ive had a few close calls on some steep hills but you get used to it after a while.

i own a 03 z400 all stock and i race my friends 450r that just has a duncan pipe we drag on dirt for about 100 or so yards i am pretty much right next to hime but im shifting into 3 and 4th and hes in like 2 or 3. but im sure if it were any longer he would kill me i ride his 450r and i like the longer gears in it a lot less shifting at are track

I know that my quad isnt anywhere close to stock but... When I was at Little Saraha OK I beat a lot of 450r's I cant remeber what some of there mods are but I will ask when I get home!!!!
